Screw Conveyor Parts & Helical Flights

Worn flights and poorly matched replacement parts reduce conveying performance and can increase load on the drive. Auger Bionics forms helical flights and discusses replacement fabrication from drawings, samples or measured site requirements.

01

Helical screw flights

Flight outside diameter, inside diameter, pitch, thickness, hand and material grade define the basic geometry. Sectional flights, continuous flighting and special profiles serve different manufacturing and repair needs.

02

Shafts, troughs and covers

The centre pipe or shaft, trough or casing, end plates and covers form the conveying envelope. Alignment, support and clearance all influence wear and smooth operation, so replacement work should consider the assembly rather than one isolated dimension.

03

Bearings, seals and drive interfaces

End bearings, intermediate supports where used, seals, couplings and drive connections must suit the load and environment. Inspection should look for misalignment, contamination, heat, vibration and uneven flight wear.

04

Information for a replacement enquiry

Provide drawings where available, clear photographs, overall dimensions, flight measurements, material grade, rotation direction and quantity. For a matching part, a physical sample may help the workshop verify details before fabrication.

Common questions

Screw Conveyor Parts & Helical Flights FAQ

Can you fabricate replacement helical flights from a sample?
Yes. Drawings, clear photographs, measured dimensions or a physical sample all help the workshop confirm outside diameter, inside diameter, pitch, thickness, hand and material grade before fabrication.
How do I know when screw flights need replacing?
Reduced throughput, increased drive load, unusual noise or vibration and visible thinning or edge wear on the flights are common indicators. The shaft, bearings and trough clearance should be inspected at the same time.
Do you supply parts for conveyors made by other manufacturers?
Replacement flights and components can be discussed for existing conveyors regardless of the original supplier, based on measured geometry or drawings.
